| Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and side effects and quality of life (QOL) of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated by combined NP [vinorebine (NVB) +cisplatin (DDP)] regimen and Yiqi Xiaozheng Paidu decoction. Methods: Sixty-three NSCLC patients were randomly divided into the treated group (n=34, treated with combined chemotherapy of NP regimen and Yiqi Xiaozheng Paidu decoction) and the control group (n=29, treated with chemotherapy of NP regimen alone). Treatment of 21-28 days as one treatment cycle, and 2 treatment cycles were applied. Results: The effective rate in treated group was 52.9% and in the control group was 37.9%; respectively, the differences of these indexes between the two groups were all significant (P<0.05). Moveover, quality of life (QOL) elevation in the treated group were better than that in the control group; side effects in the treated group was littler than that in the control group. Conclusion: The clinical efficacy and quality of life (QOL) of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated by combined NP regimen and Yiqi Xiaozheng Paidu decoction can be significantly improved by analyzed and compared with chemotherapy of NP regimen alone. Treated advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine is a promising method.
