Clinical Observation On Cases Of Obesity Treated With Acupoint Catgut Embedment

Purpose: To observe the therapeutic effect of a kind of simple acupoint Catgut embedding therapy for obesity.Methods: Acupoint catgut embedment aims at continuously stimulating acupoint by embedding catgut into the acupoint .In this observation , the author choose syringe as the tube for filiform needle of suitable length without tip used as needle to embed catgut into the acupoint .The thumb and index finger of the left hand intensify or knead the skin over the selected region and the right hand inserts the needle into the required depth .When acu-esthesia appears, the syringe is pushed while the catgut is embedded into the tissue or the mussels. A piece of dry sterilized gauze was put over the needled region .Acupoint were selected based on differentiation of symptoms and signs, and all cases of obesity were treated with acupoint Catgut embedding therapy. Catgut embedment was given once a week,4 treatments constituted of one course, two courses were given.Results: After the therapy, the bodyweighu circumference etc. all become better ,and the course is longer, the effect is better .Conclusion: This therapy has a satisfactory therapeutic effect on obesity; This method is more simple . has less pain and can save time.
