Path: Clinical study: 106 patients were treated with Qingjie Decoction as treatment group, and 63 patients with Reqing Oral Solution. The symptom, signs and laboratory check were observed. Experimental study: guinea-pig fever model induced by dried yeast and rabbit fever model induced by pneumococcus were used. The temperature was observed before and after using Qingjie Decoction, compared with control group that using Reqing Oral Solution. Results: Clinical study showed the total efficiency of treatment group was 94.3%, superior to control group with 85.7%. The contrast of entire abatement of fever time and major symptom, signs and laboratory results were notable. The animal experiment showed, that the effect of Qingjie Decoction to abate fever was superior to control group in both animal models, and had antiviral and anti bacterial effect. Conclusion: Qingjie Decoction has good efficiency of abatement of fever, antivirous and antibiosis in treating exopathic fever in children; the effect of Qingjie Decoction to abate fever is dominant to that of Reqing Oral Solution.
