Objective: To study the levels of soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor in sera of patients with malignant tumor and explore the correlation between the levels of soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor and incidence of tumor. It may help to diagnosis and prognosis for patients with tumor. Soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor may contribute to screen, confirm and treat malignant tumor in clinic. Methods: Serum soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor were detected by Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) in 52 patients with malignant tumor, and compared with 20 healthy subjects. Results: The soluble Fas levels in patients with malignant tumor [ (26.86 ± 10.18) ug/L] were significantly higher than in the normals [( 19.16 ± 8.27 ) μg/L, t = 3.0182, p<0.01 ], And it did not related to the kind of tumor (t = 0.0305 ~ 2.1130, p>0.05 ). The levels of soluble interleukin-2 receptor were also significantly higher than control group [( 362.46 ± 162.19 ) ng/L vs ( 188.55 ± 70.50 ) ng/L, t = 6.3317, p<0.01 ] . And it in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma [(646.4 ± 109.07) ng/L] was much higher than others (t = 3.1516-7.9597, p<0.05) . There was correlation between soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels in patients with malignant tumor (r = 4518, p<0.05).Conclusion: The serum soluble Fas and soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels significantly increase in tumor patients. And this increase may be closely related to the progress of tumor and immnosuppression. At the same time, it may explain the genesis of tumor and the mechanism of tumor cells how to escape from the immnosurveillance.
