| Lonicera L. includes about 200 species, and there are around 100 species in China. In this paper, Lonicera maackii (Rupr.) Maxim and Lonicera japonica Thunb. , the two species are systemically studied on pharmacognosy. ①The morphologic of Lonicera maackii (Rupr.) Maxim and Lonicera japonica Thunb. is reported, and the herb history proof of Lonicera japonica Thunb. is researched. ②The 10 parts including root, young root, stem, young stem, leaf, petiole, corolla, anther, seed capsule and seed of the two species' tissue structure are observed and described: the 7 parts including root, stem, leaf, petiole, flower, seed capsule and seed of the two spsecies' character of powder are observed and described. ③The research on cytology of the two species is studied, including Chromosome number and Karyptype analysis. ④The pollen grain of the two species is researched, and the configuration of pollen are observed and described. ⑤The dry leaf of Lonicera maackii (Rupr.) Maxim is extracted by water and isolated by CH3COOC2H5 and chloroform. And two crystals are isolated. Compound I identified is β—sitosterol; and because of impurity ,Compound Ⅱ isn't identified .
