Objective: To compare the long-term curative effects of two treatments on hemangiomas and vascular malformations. To explore the factors that affect the curative effect and the best method of treatment for the patients with cavernous hemangiomas.Materials and method : Clinical controlled trial was conducted on 43 cases of cavernous hemangiomas were performed ultrasonic B and MRI examinations and taken intratumor puncture from January 2002 to December 2004 . According to the diameter, number and draining speed and low efferent speed type, they were classed two types: low efferent speed hemangiomas and high ones. For all of them, were random performed embolization of efferent veins with bleomyvinA5 intratumor injection alone (group 1) and operation with bleomycinA5 tntratumor injection (group2).Results: The cure rate and general effective rate has significant difference between two groups in 21 patients with high efferent speed veins, while no significant difference in 22 patiens with low efferent veins .ConclusionsrThis new classification is beneficial for seeking method of therapy . The intratumor embolization is an effective method for cavernous hemangioma with high efferent speed veins before or after operation;but for the type with low efferent speed veins, bleomycinA5 intratumor injection alone could acquire a good results also.
