ObjectiveFemoral neck anteversion refers to the angle formed by longitudinal axis of normal femoral neck and frontal plane. Developmental dysplasia of hip is a kind of quite familiar disease in pediatric orthopaedics and increasing of femoral neck anteversion leads to one of the important reasons in pathological changes. It's usually believed that the enlarged anteversion is one of the causes which makes hip joints unstable. In medicine proper operations will remedy this enlarged anteversion according to different ages. From the followings we can see the measurement of anteversion has an influential meaning on clinic. The main point of my essay is to make quantitative analysis and conclude its developmental routines and consequently apply it to clinic by reconstructing the femoral neck anteversion of the DDH.MethodFrom Jun, 2001 to March, 2005 we have accepted DDH children who have complete three-dimensional CT reconstruction image data of femoral neck anteversion, amounting to 110 cases among which there are 14 male and 96 female cases, bilateral DDH 36 and unilateral DDH 74, comprised of 32 on left side and 42 on right, including III dislocation, but III dislocation hasn't been counted in the statistics. These children average 3.8 years of age. The youngest one is only 3 months and the oldest one is 13 years old. We use the technology of three-dimensional CT reconstruction to reconstruct and measure femoral neck anteversion and SPSS 12.0 analytical software in statistics to make an precise analysis.ResultMeasured data on abnormal lateral femoral neck anteversion of DDH: FNA averages 39.00° within 1 year and at the age of 1 it declined to 34.67°, at 2 years FNA augments to 37.60° , at 3 years is 42.00°, from 4 to 6 years is 42.30°, and from 7 to 13 years is 42.93°. Outcome of relevantly analysis to FNA of normal hip, normal lateral and abnormal lateral of DDH is P>0.05. All the results make clear that there's no relative between each other and each of them has their own developmental routine...
