To study on the clinical significance of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 and nm23 Gene expression of gastric cancer, the expressions of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 and nm23 were detected by immunohistochemical method in the surgically resected specimens and its endoscopic biopsy specimens of gastric cancer. Results showed that expressions of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 and nm23 were not observed in non-tumor endoscopic biopsy specimens. The expressions of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 were positively correlated with grade of tumor differentiation, the depth of tumor invasion and clinical different stages(r=0.53,r=0.67,r=0.48,P<0.05),and the expression of nm23 was negatively correlated with grade of tumor differentiation, the depth of tumor invasion and clinical different stages(r=-0.36,P<0.05).Positive rates of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 and nm23 expressions between endoscopic biopsy and resected specimens were of coincidence. Conclusion:Determination of p53,c-erbB-2,p21 and nm23 expressions were might be useful in diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer, differentiating benign and malignant tumor, clinical stages and better than single gene in predicting prognosis of gastric cancer.
