Objective: To investigate and compare the expression of serum adhesion molecule such as sICAM-1 (soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1)and the other two index sVAP-1 (soluble vascular adhesion protein) and CRP (C reactive protein)in the elderly patients with cardiovascular diseases, cerebral infarction and healthy donors in order to find out the difference and their relationship in these groups and find out the role of those adhesion molecules and C reactive protein in the development of cardiovascular or Cerebral vessels diseases .Methods: Eighty-five aging patients with cardiovascular or cerebral infarction patients and healthy donors entered this study, those accompanied with infective disease or high blood triglycerides or Cholesterin or high blood sugar were rejected. The patients were divided into four groups: acute myocardial infarction group(to be called myocardial infarction group for short),stable angina pectoris (to be called angina pectoris group for short),the cerebral infarction group and control group. Each group composed of about twenty persons. 2ml venous fasting-blood sample of them was collected in the morning and then the serum were routinely separated and reserved in - 80℃refrigerator being tested in someday. The serum concentration of sICAM-1 > sVAP-k CRP was indirectly tested by ELISA method. The angina pectoris group include 13 male, 8 female( age 60-85 years, mean age 75.30±3.41 years). The acute myocardial infarction group include 16 male and 6 cases female(age 60-85 years, mean age 72.34±2.80 years). The cerebral infarction group included 14 male and 7 female( age 60-84 years, mean age 67.47±3.62 years). The control group composed of 13 male and 8 female(age 60-80 years, average 67.55±5.30 years). Finally, the levels of sICAM-1 > sVAP-1 > CRP of four groups were compared and analyzed. Results: The CRP > sVC AM-1 ^ s VAP-1 content of the control group was 39.76ng±28.92/mk 302.09±55.10 ng/ml and 64.57±15.50 ng/ml respectively. Those of the acute myocardial infarction group was 519.68±318.39ng/mk 549.81±134. lOng/ml and 135.90±41.20ng/ml. Those of stable angina pectoris group was 162.76±128.85 ng/mk 422.04±65.16 ng/ml and 87.04±15.72ng/ml. In the cerebral infarctions group ,the levels of them was 109.52±59.43ng/mk 383.57±60.05ng/ml and 73.57±13.37ng/mlo The result of statistic analysis (F analysis and Q test) indicated that: the level of CRP of the acute myocardial infarction group is highest in four groups, it is the second higher in angina pectoris group, which in the cerebral infarctions group is higher than its in normal control group. The level of sICAM-1 and CRP in the acute myocardial infarction group is highest too, there was no difference between the cerebral infarction group and the angina pectoris group, and the level ofSVAP-1 was no difference between the cerebral infarction group and the normal control group. The result of the correlation analyze of three subjects indicated that the correlation between sICAM-1 and sVAP-1 was only found in the angina pectoris group. Conclusions: 1 > The levels of sICAM-1 -, sVAP-1 and CRP were higher than those of normal group indicated that the three data affected the development of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. 2> That the activated of sICAM-K sVAP-1 and CRP were the highest in the acute myocardial infarction group and second in the angina pectoris group displayed that the expression of those adhere molecules affected by the severity of ischemia . The result indicates that these three data can help us determine the severity of some diseases. It's been suggested that testing the levels in the blood may be a new way to assess cardiovascular disease risk. Three data can help us determine the severity of some diseases. 3> In this study, the positive relationship was only found between sVAP-1 and sICAM-1 in the angina pectoris group and not in other groups. This fact indicated that the expiration ofsICAM-K sVAP-1 and CRP can not affect each other.
