Objective: Establish a classification indicator by measure the serumlevels of soluble ICAM-1 concentration in hemangiomas,in orderto predict what stage they are in ,and dicide which metheod be treatedwith hemangiomas or if wait for spontaneous regression .Methods: Sixty patients included 40 hemangiomas and 20 negative controlsample. They are without infection and did not get treament before.Hemangioma patients all have an operation. The sample excised fromhemangiomas was sented to get pathology examination, was observed frommicroscope and was identified as two groups: hemangioma in theproliferating phase and hemangioma in the involuting phase. The bloodsample were collected from vein before the surgical operation. Bloodsample was placed calm down in indoor temperature for 30 minutes incommon tube, then put it into centrifugal machine (1000 rm for 10minutes).The serum sample was get from the top of blood sample and wasputed into icebox at -20℃.The serum levels of sICAM-1 concentrationswas determined using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) whichwas completed as the request of reagent knit. The OD value of sICAM-1was test at 490nm,then convert it to concentration as its comport ingraph. Results: The ICAM-1 concentration was analyzed using SPSS 12.0software .We found that serum ICAM-1 concetration in proliferativehemangiomas was significantly higher than that of involutinghemangiomas and the negative control. While the difference amonginvoluting hemangiomas and negative control is not significant. Conclusions: The examination of the serum level of soluble ICAM-1concentration using ELISA technique is a convenient and precisemethod to diagnos the stages of heamangiomas . The examination of theserum level of soluble ICAM-1 can help to make the choice of therapyfor heamangiomas.
