Geum aleppicum Jacq., a kind of herbaceous plant which hasbeen growing for many years, is widely distributed in the NortheastAsia and North China and especially abundant in Changbaishanarea. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine since AncientChina. Its whole plant or root can be used as herbal medicine. Theyare applied to remove toxic heat, detoxify and have diuresis,detumescence, acesodyne activities.However, the studies on chemical constituents of Geumaleppicum Jacq. haven't been reported at home and at abroad. YuanPing Jiang et. studied on the in vitro antimicrobial effect of thedecoction, the water-soluble ingredients and the liposolubleingredients.
