Expression Of Cyclooxygenase-2 In Meningioma And Relationship With Microvessel Density

Meningioma is one kind of common tumor in central nervous system.Some kinds of tumor anatomy relationship is complicated .It is difficult to eradicate by operation.There is high recurrence rate after operation,and Malignant meningioma has 78% recurrence rate after operation.It is not sensitive to approach of accessory treatment used in clinic at present.The overexpression of COX-2 may be relationship with tumor angiogenesis.Provide a new target for meningioma therapy. Objective To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)and microvessel density(MVD).in meningioma and its significance. Methods The COX-2 protein and MVD were examined by immunohistochemicalstain. in 72 brain meningioma tissues and 15 non-tumor brain tissues. COX-2 of expression to be measured by score table. Results Tile expression of COX-2 protein in meningioma tissues(average 3.24) was significantly higher than that in non-tumor brain tissues (average 0.43),and it increased parallel with the elevation of malignant degree.Meningioma,there was appositive correlation between COX-2 and MVD( r=0.627,P<0.05).
