Objective Activity screening, safety estimation and effective part separation were conducted on the traditional Chinese medicines to find medicines with effective and safe activities for killing human Demodex in vitro and to provide clinical therapy medicines for demodicidosis.Methods① Active Human Demodex mites were provided by volunteers with moderate to severe Demodex infestation selected from infestation investigation; ② Tracking method were used in mite-killing experiment in vitro and to observe morphologic change and killed time in the course, and then estimated its activity for killing mite; ③ 20g of each candidate were extracted with 80% ethanol by heat under reflux, and then prepared to be concentration of 200mg/ml and used into mite-killing experiment; ④Test of power of hydrogen, acute-term toxicity test and skin irritation test were conducted to prove the safety of the medicine; and ⑤ Serial solvent extraction were used to extract five part extract with petroleum ether(60~90 °C), trichlormethane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol and distilled water by heat under reflux in order. And then mite-killing experiment were conducted to the five extract to find the effective part. Results ①The top 10 quick mite-killing medicine were Cortex Phellodendri (0.83 ±0.36min) , Herba Taraxaci(1.50±0.65min), Herba Agrimoniae(2.00±0.53 min), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae(2.57±0.76min), Rhizoma Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae(3.50±1.13min), Flos Genkwa(3.50±1.24min), Radix Stemonae(3.53 ± 1.04min), Fructus Gardeniae(5.67 + 1.21 min), Herba Artemisiae Scopariae (6.23 ±1.35min)and Cortex Dictamni(6.53 ±2.38min) et al; ②Herba Taraxaci have...
