Screening Test And Experimental Study On The Volatile Oils Of The Traditional Chinese Medicine With Activities Of Killing Human Demodex

Objective Activity screening and safety estimation were conducted on essential oils which was contained in the traditional Chinese medicines to find medicines with effective and safe activities for killing Human Demodex in vitro and to provide clinical therapy medicines for demodicidosis.Methods①Active Human Demodex were provided by volunteers with moderate to severe Demodex infestation selected from infestation investigation in different public;②Extracting essential oils of the traditional Chinese medicines by the technology of wet distillation;③Mite-killing experiment was carried out in vitro by microscope and to observe and record the morphologic change and killed time to the two kinds of different Demodexs in the course,and then to estimate its activity for killing mite;④Acute-term toxicity test and skin irritation test were conducted to prove the safety of the medicine.Results The six species essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines including Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum,Orange Fruit,Manchurian Wildginger,Cinnamon Bark,Flos Caryophylli and Pricklyash Peel which be screening from the eighty-five species essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines including Atractylodes Rhizome,Dried Tangerine Peel,Manchurian Wildginger,Cinnamon Bark and so on were effected extremely in the Mite-killing experiment.The top six quick mite-killing(Demodex folliculorum/Demodex brevis)essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines were Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum(14.42±1.14) min/(8.3±0.86) min;Orange Fruit(21.72±0.84) min/(10.72±0.83) min;Manchurian Wildginger (12.55±0.91) min/(15.83±1.31) min;Cinnamon Bark(13.52±0.73) min/(6.96±0.63) min;Flos Caryophylli(3.86±0.55) min/(5.02±0.65)min;Pricklyash Peel(12.98±0.58) min/(6.89±0.56) min.The essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines of Flos Caryophylli have no acute-term toxicity and skin irritation to rabbit.Conlusion The essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines which be extracted from Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum,Orange Fruit,Manchurian Wildginger,Cinnamon Bark,Clore and Pricklyash Peel are effective for killing Demodex in vitro.The activities of killing Demodex folliculorum is more powerful than Demodex brevis to the essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines of Manchurian Wildginger and Flos Caryophylli,but others were inverse just right.The essential oils in the traditional Chinese medicines of Flos Caryophylli was best and deserved to be studied in detail in future research.Figure[21]table[14]Charts[5]reference[64]...
