The Expression And Its Significance Of PCNA And Fas In Gastric Carcinoma | Posted on:2006-09-02 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:Y L Yan | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2144360155966131 | Subject:Internal Medicine | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objective: To study the protein expression of PCNA and Fas in the progression and prognosis of gastric carcinoma.Method: sixty-nine cases of gastric carcinoma (GC),twenty-four cases ofintestinal metaplasia (IM)and twenty-two cases of dysplasia (Dys) were studied by immunohistochemical technique .Statistical analysis of group differences was performed by x2 test.Results: The positive rate of PCNA in gastric carcinoma was 55.07%,significantly higher than that in IM(25.00%)and Dys(27.27%) (p<0. 05),and its expression was significantly related with tumor differentiation, infiltration ,lymph node metastasis and stage (p<0. 05) .The positive rate of Fas in gastric carcinoma was 42.03%, significantly lower than that in IM(83.33%) and Dys(81.82%) (p< 0. 01) ,and its expression was significantly related with tumor differention and stage(p <0.05) .Further more, the expression of PCNA was inversely correlated with the expression of Fas.Conclusion: the expression of PCNA and Fas could reflect the proliferative and apoptosis activity of gastric tumor cells respectively, PCNA overexpression may be related to progression in gastric carcinoma ,the reduction of Fas may be reflect the progression and high grade malignancy of GC and may be a useful indicator for prognosis. The overexpression of PCNA and reduction of Fas may play synergeticrole in the course and development of GC. Their expression may be helpful in determing rumor progression.
