[Objective] To investigate the safety and effincacy of reinfusion of autologous shed blood after operation and to evaluate the value of clinical application in orthopedic operation .[Methods] From Fedruary 2001—February 2004, We selected 102 patients for orthopedic operation . 102 cace Were divided into three groups. Test groups:Autologous drained blood transfusion(n=38) . Control group I:No blod transfus-ion(n=38); Control group II:non~autotransfusion group. By collecting 102 patient' s specimen of drain blood and reinfused blood at different time , we detect blood routine , blood gas analysis and bacteria culture. Complications of transfusion and autologous blood of three groups were recorded.[Results] About 65% of drain blood concentrate Within 6 hours of postperation. The prepoperative and postoperative various parameters of rountine blood in test group were similar to control group II and extraordinary between control group I . Complications of transfusion were statistic lower in test group than control group II.[Conclusions] Reinfusion of autologous shed blood is a safe and effective to decrease the use of allogenic blood and avoid the complications of its transfasion .
