Objective: To investigate the significance of Skp2 expression in human gliomas and the relationship between it and p27.Methods: The expressions of Skp2 and p27 in 33 cases of the human gliomas and 6 specimens of the normal brain tissue were detected by immunohistochemical technique. The results was statistically calculated by SPSS 11.5 statistical software. Results: In normal brain tissue, group , Ⅱ and Ⅲ, Ⅳ, the positive expression levels of Skp2 was 3.33±1.21, 27.11±9.29, 59.53±17.84 respectively, and p27 was 79.83±10.11, 60.83±14.04, 13.07±5.66 respectively. There were significant differences in the expressions levels of Skp2 and p27 among the normal brain tissue, the gliomas of grades Ⅰ, Ⅱand the gliomas of grades Ⅲ, Ⅳ (P<0.01), but there was a negative correlation between the expressions of Skp2 and p27 in the gliomas. Conclusion: The expression of Skp2 was positive correlated with pathological grade of human glioma. Skp2 may play an important role in the development of glioma by its promotive effect on decomposition of p27.
