OBJECTIVE: The expressions of caspase-3 and ki-67 are tested to evaluate its effects on vulvar dystrophy and squamous cell carcinoma of vulva.METHODS: The immunohistochemistry(SP method) is used to determine the expressions of caspase-3 and ki-67 in vulvar dystrophy, atypical hyperplasia, squamous cell carcinoma of vulva and normal vulval skin.RESULTS: 1. According to different ages, 69 cases of vulvar dystrophies are divided into 4 groups:22 cases were diagnosed Squamous cell hyperplasia, 20 cases were diagnosed Lichen sclerosus, 8 cases were diagnosed mixed type and the rest cases were diagnosed atypical hyperplasia. Among the cases of Squamous cell hyperplasia, the cases of before menostasia were more than those of after menostasia. In the other three groups, the cases of after menostasia were more than those of before menostasia, respectively. 2. (1)The protein expression level of caspase-3 in normal vulval skin(50%) was significantly lower than that in Lichen sclerosus (90%). The protein expression level of caspase-3 in Lichen sclerosus was significantly higher than in Squamous cell hyperplasia(59%).The positive expression of caspase-3 in atypical hyperplasia and vulvar cancer were significantly lower than in normal vulval skin and vulvar dystrophy respectively.(2)The protein expression of...
