Diabetic Cardiopathy (abbreviated as DC) is one of the major and common diabetes complications. It is the Cardiopathy complicated by or occurring simultaneously with diabetes, including coronary artery disease, diabetic cardiomyopathy and diabetic autonomic neuropathy. Among them coronary artery disease takes up a large proportion. As diabetes has various impacts on human heart, and currently no method or index can help diagnose diabetic coronary disease at an early stage whether in home or abroad, plus no effective medication for diabetic coronary disease has been developed yet, it bares great importance to carry out further studies on this disease, aiming at exploring the rules for its diagnosis and cure, so as to develop effective formula to prevent diabetic coronary disease and ease the severity of the conditions. The subjects of this research are mainly suffers of angina pectoris caused by diabetic coronary disease. This is the core for diabetic coronary disease treatment, because if angina pectoris is not properly controlled, it will worsen to be myocardial infarction, which has a high mortality and poor prognosis. According to the observation and analysis of the treatment effectiveness to 60 diabetic coronary disease caused angina pectoris cases who have been diagnosed by TCM as "deficiency of Qi(energy)& Yin (fluid of the body) " , "stagnation of Qi (energy) & blood stasis" , "phlegm clogged" , it is further explicated that the effectiveness of the prescribed "thirst dissipating, numbness removing" decoction and its advantages against western medicine as well as the rules of causes, diagnosis and cure for this disease. Objective: to study the clinical effectiveness of the self- prescribed "thirst dissipating, numbness removing" decoction to diabetic coronary disease caused angina pectoris, and its advantages against western medicine.Methodology: Prospective randomized controlled experiment, 60 diabetic coronary angina pectoris patients up to the diagnosing standard were divided into the experiment group and the control group, both of which received basic diabetic treatments. The experiment group were given the TCM self-prescribed "thirst dissipating, numbness removing" decoction, while the control group were given western medicine called Adalat controlled release pellets. The treatment and abservation lasted 8 weeks. The clinical conditions before and after treatment were evaluated, and the major laboratorial indexes were statistically analyzed. Results: The overall effective rate in the experiment group was 86.7%, higher than 56. 7% of the control group. The experiment group had advantages against the control group in aspects as various as: improving the clinical conditions, reducing the blood sugar, improving blood rheology index and lipid metabolism disorder (P<0. 05).Conclusion: The treatment effectiveness of self-prescribed "thirst dissipating, numbness removing" decoction in the experiment group is better than that of the western medicine in the control group. Among the experiment group , remarkable effect was seen in 9 cases, effect in 17 cases, and responselessness in 4 cases, making an overall effectiveness rate of 86.7%. While in the western medicine group, remarkable effect was found in 6 cases, effect in 11 cases, responselessness in 13 cases, making the overall effectiveness rate of 56. 7%. The comparison of these 2 group had shown a notable difference (P<0.05).It was proved that the self-prescribed "thirst dissipating, numbness removing" decoction has curative effect in easing the conditions, improving heart muscle ischemia, reducing blood sugar, improving blood rheology index as well as lipid metabolism disorder, this research has provided evidences showing the TCM Research & Development and its application had actual effectiveness to treatment for diabetic coronary disease, presented notable advantages and promising prosperity, resulting in the elevation of TCM' s level to prevent and study diabetic coronary disease.
