| Objective To find out the status of occupational health in township coal mines of Datong.Methods All relevant occupational hygiene data from administrational departments of occupational health and mines were collected and analyzed.Results There are 386 township coal mines in Datong, with a total design throughput of 41,340,000t/a ( 52.84% of all coal mines ) and some 25,000 coal production miners. Between the years of 2004 and 2005, 1,405 miners from 15 township mines were examined for occupational health, and 16 miners were diagnosed to be pneumoconiosis. The main mining modes are manual mining dynamitically, and pneumoconiosis is the head occupational hazards. Discussion & Advice The status of township coal mines in Datong is not satisfied and must be promoted. |
