BackgroundIn recent years, the anti-tumor effect of Chinese traditional medicine has drawn a high attention from all over the world.Ganoderma lucidum spore(GLS) is a kind of Chinese medicine which richly contains macromolecule polysaceharides, triterpenes, adenosine, peptides, alkaloid and microelement. The study has shown that GLS has the function of preventing tumor generation and retaining the tumor growth. Its anti-tumor effect is not to kill the cancer cells directly, but to enhance the body's anti-tumor ability through regulating the body s immune response. There are several immune scrutiny mechanisms exerting anti-tumor effect in the body.Immune cells' prime, activation and amplification depend on antigen presenting cell(APC) presents corresponding antigen polypeptide and costimulate signals.Dendritic cell(DC) is the best antigen presenting cell known so far.The membrane of dendritic cell highly express MHC molecule and many kinds of adhesion molecules and costimulate signals, which can incept and dispose antigen effectively, migrate into T cell region,to activate the unprimed T cells and then stimulate their amplification evidently. Dendritic cell, which play an important role in anti-tumor immune regulation, express tumor antigen on DC surface through MHC-antigen peptide compound after series of process like capture, process, present antigen, then the compounds can be recognized by native T cells. The naive T cells can be activated and differentiated into cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL) which can recognize and kill the tumor cells, then the self-specific anti-tumor immune response is...
