BACKGROUND AND PURPOSES:Regenerating medicine is popular in the 21th century, the development of Otology also has a new field. Sensorineural deafness is a problem in Otology, the human hasn't made progress. The therapy of sensorineural deafness is always a puzzle for the otology doctors. With the discovery of neural stem cell and pretty therapeutic efficacy of neural stem cell on clinic, the otology scientists have transplanted neural stem cells into cochlea, hoping to help the sensorineural deafness patients. Neural stem cells can be the source of neurotrophic factor, Recent studies on NSCs transplantation into the inner ear suggest that NSCs can secrete neurotrophic factors such as BDNF, GDNF and so on. Other studies find NSC can secrete NGF, BDNF, GDNF in vivo, these were proved by using ELISA and RT-PCR.Congenital genetic diseases, ageing, trauma, Ototoxic drugs and infectious diseases damage hair cells and spiral neuron cells, further affect acoustic neuron and the degeneration of acoustic neuron. In peripheral auditory system, neurotrophins can promote precursor cells divide, keep neurons survive and divide, accelerate neuron axons grow, play a role in the maturation and maintaing...
