The Effect Of Acupuncture Combined Diet Therapy On Female Patients With Simple Obesity In Stomach-Heat And Dampness-Stagnation Type

Objective: Through observing the effect of acupuncture combined diet therapy on adiponectin(APN), insulin(INs) and some parameters relating to female patients with simple obesity in stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type, we can explore the mechanism of acupuncture combined diet therapy to simple obesity.Method: 40 cases of female patients with simple obesity in stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type were randomly divided into two groups (group A is the therapy group, group B is the contrast group) : group A (20 cases) were treated with acupuncture and diet manipulation, group B (20 cases) were treated with diet manipulation only. The varieties of the following items were investigated: clinical therapeutic effects, the level of APN and INs in serum.Results: (1) In group A, the weight of patients are significantly different between before and after the therapy (P<0.05). In two groups, body mass index (BMI) and degree of obesity in obese patients are both different between before and after treatment (P<0. 01). However, after treatment BMI and degree of obesity in group A decreased more significantly than that of in group B (P<0. 05). (2) In group A, concentration of serum APN and INs level in obese patients presented a pronounced difference between before and after the therapy(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). However, in the diet manipulation group, concentration of scrum APN and INs level in obese patients had no significant difference between before and after the treatment. Comparing two groups after the treatment, concentration of serum APN and INs level had the difference.
