Backgrounds: Diabetes mellitus is a kind of seriously harmful disease. The prevalence of this chronic metabolic disease is on the increase with the economic development especially in developing countries. Globally, the figure for the people with diabetes is said to have risen from 30 million in 1985 to 143 million in 2000. It is estimated that in the year 2010 it will be 220 million and 300million in 2025. So more and more people pay attention to the pathogenesy, prevention, and treatment of diabetes. All we know that type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with inactive life style and unhealthy or inappropriate diet. And genetic factors play a very important role in the aetiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to type 1. Insulin resistance is a typical character of diabetes which is strongly associated with obesity. The role of adipose tissue as a secretory organ has emerged through the discovery of leptin. And many secretory factors including resistin are discovered that are involved in regulating the metabolic functions.Resistin is a protein secreted primary from adipose tissue and belongs to a family of protein named RELM(resistin-like molecule) and it is regulated by many factors. Now many studies has confirmed that resistin is an important molecule to link obesity and diabetes mellitus in rodents, but its mechanism of action in human is inconsistent. It is little in our state that direct to investigate the protein level of resistin in abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue by immunohistochemistry. This study is aim to observe the protein level of resistin in serum and abdominal adipose tissue and analyze the...
