Clinical Study On Treatment Of Carotid Atherosclerosis Plaque With Micro-powder Of Huanglian

Objective: To observe therapeutic effect and discuss mechanism in treatment of carotid atherosclerosis plaque with micro-powder of huanglian;To provide scientific proof for prevention and cure of carotid atherosclerosis plaque and related cardiovascular and cerebrovascular dieases with Chinese trational medicine which can clear away heat and toxic material such as huanglian. Methods: Sixty cases of carotid atherosclerosis plaque were divided into three groups randomly:group A,twenty cases,was treated with micro- powder of huanglian;group B,twenty cases,was treated with Lovastatin;group C,twenty cases,was not treated with medicine.We observed the effect on clinical symptom,and the change of intima-media thickness(IMT),inside diameter,Crouse plaque integral, peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV), plaque pathologic classification and carotid classification in carotid.We also observed the change of hypersensitive C-reactive protein and blood lipid. Results: Group A can relieve symptom;can reduce IMT and expand inside diameter to restrain the development of plaque;can increase PSV and EDV to improve carotid blood flow;can decrease hs-CRP to restrain inflammation.Curative effect of group A is mostly equal to and partly superior to Group B.Curative effect of group A is remarkably superior to group C. Conclusion: Micro-powder of huanglian can restrain and stabilize plaque.It can prevent and cure carotid atherosclerosis plaque and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases which are based on atherosclerosis.
