PART ONE Investigation of BDV Natural Infection of Domestic Fowls and Ducks in Chongqing Objective:To investigate the natural infection of Borna Disease Virus (BDV) of domestic fowls and ducks in Chongqing and explore if the nucleotide sequence in BDV p24 was homophylic with the overseas strains, including standard Strain V and stain He/ 80 , detected from human and animals. Methods: the p24 fragment of BDV was detected by with fluorescence quantitative nested reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (FQ-nRT-PCR) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 120 domestic fowls and 120 ducks. And then the products of FQ-PCR from positive samples were cloned and sequenced before compared with those of the overseas strains, including Strain V and stain He/ 80, detected from human and animals. Results: The positive rate of BDV p24 in PBMCs from the domestic fowls was 1.67% (2/120). However, that from the domestic ducks was 0% (0/120). The gene sequence for positive product showed BDV p24 in the domestic fowls from Chongqing was homophylic with H1766 strain...
