Articular cartilage degradation is characterized by degenerative joint disease. In recent years, The reasons of articular cartilage degeneration in OA have been got the large number of studies from different angles, but the mechanism has not fully understand. A number of theories has been put forward. Overall following main theories ; (1) bone under high pressure theory (2) free radical theory (3) cytokines theory (4) cartilage enzymatic degradation theory. Studies found cytokines may play an important role in the pathogenesis. Insulin-like growth factor- â…¡ (IGF- â…¡ ) promotes multiple sources of the proliferation of chondrocytes and cartilage matrix synthesis. Cartilage cells at different stages have different sensitivity to IGF- â…¡. Inter-leukin-6 (IL-6 ) can stimulate osteoclast differentiation and growth, it also can enhance the activity of osteoclasts. The role of IL-6 in OA is still in a lot of controversy. This article studies the expression of IGF- â…¡ and IL-6 on Cartilage Degeneration in Osteoarthritis. Along with the research of molecular biology and cell factor in depth, OA drug treatment and biological treatment of OA have the certain progresses. Therefore the multianalysis for cytokine gene expression in normal cartilage and OA cartilage will provide a better way to the OA treatment.MethodsThe specimen Originates articular cartilage tissues with six cases of OA pa-... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Osteoarthritis, histopathology, insulin-like growth factor-â…¡, interleukin-6 | | Related items |
