Objective: To analysis the difference of insulin resistance and plasma uric acid level between hypertensive patients with fatty live and simple hypertensive patients and to evaluate the possible mechanisms for that. Methods: High, weight, the level of total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, gamma-glutamy-ltransferase, plasma glucose, serum insulin after oral glucose tolerance test were investigated in 98 inpatients with hypertension and fatty liver and 102 simple hypertensive inpatients diagnosed by B ultrasonic echograph. We analyzed the level and homeostasis model assessment of the plasma uric acid in two groups with useing t test, multiple liner regression analysis, Logistic regression analysis. Results: The result of logistic regression analysis suggests that the fatty liver significantly correlated with fasting plasma glucose, body mass index, triglyceride, serum Insulin after oral glucose tolerance test 3 hours. The level of the plasma uric acid and homeostasis model assessment of fatty liver with hypertensive inpatients was higher than those of the simple hypertensive controls, the plasma uric acid level was related to parameters of body mass index, serum cholesterol, triglycerides, and liver enzyme but not included AST. Conclusions: Fasting blood glucose, body mass index, triglyceride, serum Insulin after oral glucose tolerance test 3 hours are independent risk factors of fatty liver, with the more risk factors getting together, there are the more morbidity of fatty liver. With the development of insulin resistance, the level of the plasma uric acid of...
