The Difference Expressions Between ICAM-1 And VCAM-1 Of Colonic Tissues Of Patients With UC Of The Liver Depressed And Spleen Weakness Type, Who Is Treated By The Method Of Shugan Jianpi

Objective: To study the different expressions and significance of the difference expressions between ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 of colonic tissues of patients with UC of the liver depressed and spleen weakness type , who is treated by the method of Shugan Jianpi.Method: Sixteen UC patients fitted the liver depressed and spleen weakness type were recruited whom were admintted by The first affiliated hospital of TCM from Jan 2005 to Dec 2005. Before the treat. An full examine of colon by endoscopy was given to patients. And we gave mucosal biopsies in the most obvious position of inflammation:clamping 3~5 biopsies and then fixup by formal dehyde, dealing with paraffin-embedded. During the treat phase, the patients accepted eight weeks treating by the method of Shugan Jianpi. An full examine of colon by endoscopy was given to patients again after treat. And we gave mucosal biopsies in the most obvious position of inflammation, clamping 3~5 biopsies and then fixup by formal dehyde, deal with paraffin-embedded. Finally, slice up the paraffin to prepare for the test. Using immunohistochemical method assayed all the colon mucosal specimens of 16 patients to observe the protein expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1. And observed whether the expression had the statistical differences by univariate Stat. analysis through x~2 test of RxC table. Results: Pathological position of 16 cases: 2 with right hemicolon(12. 5%), 11 with left hemicolon(68. 75%), 23with rectum(18. 75%);to analyze histological grade of the AUC patients by Ridit: p<0. 05 . there was significant difference between without treatment and treated patients;endoscope grade p<0. 05 , there was significant difference of between without treatment and treated patients;colonic tissues ICAM-1 of patients expressd: x~2=6.79 P<0.05, there wassignificant difference of between without treatment and treated patients;colonic tissues VCAM-1 (the microvascular endothelium) of patients expressd: x 2=5. 05 p>0. 05, there was no significant difference between without treatment and treated patients;colonic tissues VCAM-1 (inflammation cell in stroma.-lymphocyte^ plasma cell) of patients expressd: x2=5. 05 p>0. 05, there was no significant difference between without treatment and treated patients. Conclusions: This test result revealed the expressions of colonic tissues ICAM-1 of patients were significant difference, who is treated by the method of Shugan Jianpi .There was agreement in therapentic effect, it explained ICAM-1 played a certain role in the pathogenesis of UC, and ICAM-1 was related to the AUC changes . The expression degree of ICAM-1 was related to the degree of UC. There was no significant difference between without treatment and treated patients on VCAM-1 expressions of colonic tissues, considered the following aspects: 1. The antibody quality was unsatifactory, operated the test regulately according to the reagent provider' s demand, there were no positive results in test. 2. The sample account was too little, it was insufficient to relect the difference between without treatment and treated patients. 3. VCAM-1 can't be regarded markers of assessing severity in occurrence and development of UC and the effect of the treatment.
