BackgroundIt is high incidence, high fatality and high Mutilation rate of acute ischemic stroke from which the patients and their family suffered heavy burden as well as the society. Only thrombolysis and aspirin were proved effective. Though many herbal medicine were effective to treat stroke, strictly designed, multicenter, large simple, randomized clinical trials are urgently needed. PurposeTo evaluate the effectivity and safety of Integrated TCM with WM treatment protocol to manage Yin pattern of acute ischemic stroke MethodsProspective, multicenter, central randomized, paralleled, clinical trial. Less than 72hrs, anterocirculation is chemic stroke, from 40 to 85 years old, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale more than four, Glawsger Coma Scale less than seven, no severe disability before onset of the stroke, no severe heart, liver, renal function failure, the cases were divided into treatment group (group A, including basic treatment plus TCM differentiation treatment plus aspirin plus early rehabilitation) and control group (group B, including basic treatment plus citicoline injection plus aspirin plus early rehabilitation). The treatment duration was 21days, and the followup duration was 90 days. Results87 cases acquired from 17 sites all over the country, including 43 cases in group A and 44 cases in group B. 4 cases were rejected, and 11 cases dropped, 2 cases were death in group A. The baseline of two groups was comparable, which included sex, age, blood pressure, NIHSS, concomitant disease (P>0. 05). The mortality rate, NIHSS, modified Rankin Scale, Glasgow Outcome Scale, BarthelIndex have no significant difference between A and B groups in each period. There was one case nasal bleeding and vomiting in group A, one case skin rash and one case vomiting in group B. Cone I us i onsNo evidence showed that integrated TCM with WM treatment protocol had more superior effect than that of control group. Should enlarge the sample, strength the quality of the clinical trial, reduce the dropped and rejected cases, and make various kinds of stroke patients, in order to evaluate the superiority and effect target of Traditional Chinese Medicine objectively across the board.
