Objective: To detect the expression of bFGF and endostatin in osteosarcoma and discuss their clinical significance. Methods: The expression of bFGF,endostatin and CD34 were evaluated by immunohistoche- mical Elivision method in 30 specimens of osteosarcoma and 30 osteochondroma tissues. And all dates were dealt with soft ware SPSS13.0 to analysis the expression and the relationship of the parameters.Results:(1)The positive expression rate of bFGF,endostatin and CD34 protein in osteosarcoma was respectively 76.7%,86.7%,96.7%.There were prominent differences between osteosarcoma and osteochondroma groups(P<0.01).(2)In osteosarcoma group, the expression of endostatin was positively correlated with the expression of CD34 (P<0.05,γs=0.528),the expression of endostatin in poor differentiation were much higher than that in good differentiation group of osteosarcoma(P<0.05),Endostatin expression had correlation with osteosarcoma metastasis(P<0.05).(3)There were no correlation of the expression rate between bFGF and endostatin(P>0.05). Conclusion: That angiogenesis is not only the basis of tumor of metastasis but also an important factor in tumor growth.Endostatin expression could be the parameters in the judgment of postoperation metastasis and prognosis, the expression of endostatin may act as adjuvant indicators in the grade of malignancy of osteosarcoma.
