Objective:Through investigating the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) and the microvessel density(MVD) in chorionic villi of the missed abortion women,approach the possible mechanism of the missed abortion.Methods:Immunohistochemistry(SABC method) was applied to observe the expression of bFGF and the MVD in the chorionic villi from the missed abortion group and normal early gestation group.Results:1.The content of bFGF in chorionic villi of missed abortion group(0.209±0.054) was evidently lower than that of normal early gestation group(0.426±0.056).The difference was significant (P<0.05).2.The MVD in missed abortion group(0.192±0.054) was evidently lower than that of normal early gestation group(0.415±0.068). The difference was significant(P<0.05).3.The expression of bFGF in chorionic villi has correlation with MVD in missed abortion group (r=0.719,P<0.05) and normal early gestation group(r=0.763,P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The lower expression of bFGF may be related to the occurrence of missed abortion.2.Reduction of bFGF expression in chorionic villi may plays a role in missed abortion through inducing the decrease of angiogenesis in the chorionic villi.
