Objective: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a severe type of acute cerebrovascular disease with high morbidity and mortality. There is not a very effective therapy after ICH. Invigorating vital energy and promoting blood flow therapy (IPT) is another therapy of ICH at the acute stage besides promoting blood flow and removing stasis therapy (PRT) of Traditional Chinese Medicine. IPT has a better therapeutic effect in clinic at the acute stage, but known little about the intervention mechanisms in treating ICH. In the experiment, IPT is made up of Astragalus injection and Salviae miltiorrhiza radix injection, PRT is made up of Salviae miltiorrhiza radix injection only. Injecting of autologous blood of rat made ICH model. The score of neural functional defect, microanatomy, apoptosis cells, the cells expressing protein of Bcl-2, NF-κB p65 and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) were measured after treatment by IPT. This paper may provid theoretical foundation that IPT prevents and treats the secondary injury of ICH for clinic. Methods: 104 Sprague-Dawley male rats (300-350g) were offered by Hebei Medical University. The rats were divided into normal group, sham group, model group, PRT group and IPT...
