Ojective: To investigate plasma resistin concentration in normal control subjects and obesity, type 2 diabetic patients and the relationship between plasma resistin level and obesity, type 2 diabetes. Methods: Fasting plasma resistin concentration was measured by ELISA. Fasting plasma glucose( FPG) and fasting serum insulin(FINS) were measured to calculate insulin resistance Index (HOMA- IR). Height, body weight, waist circumference were measured to calculate BMI. Triglyceride ( TG ),total cholesteryl ( TC) were examined in central laboratory. Results: The plasma resistin levels were7.02±2.86 ng/ml,10.04±4.45 ng/ml,14.68±6.18 ng/ml,15.48±6.10 ng/ml in normal, obese, Non-obese diabetic and obese diabetic subjects respectively. The resistin concentrations were higher in obese and diabetic subjects than in normal subjects (P<0.05~0.001). there was no significant deference of resistin level in plasma in Non-obese diabetic and obese diabetic subjects (P>0.05). There was no significantly difference in plasma resistin between female group and male group(P <0.01). Pearson analysis showed that body mass index (BMI), waist circumference(WC) , fasting plasma glucose﹙FPG﹚, insulin resistance...
