Objective: To investigate the incidence of chronic prostatitis(CP) in IgA nephropathy(IgAN),the clinical and pathological effect of CP on IgAN,whether the IgAN model can be induced by CP and the model's character. To study the role of chronic prostatitis in the generation and development of IgAN.Methods:1.Part of clinical research: To compare the incidence of CP between patients with IgAN and patients with non-IgA mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis. To compare the clinical and patho- logical indexes between IgAN patients without CP and IgAN patients with CP. To observe the curative effect of anti-inflammatory treatment in IgAN patients with CP. 2.Part of animal experiment: SD rats were divided into 3 groups randomly: GroupA:lobectomy of liver(n=16);GroupB:prostatitis (n=16);GroupC:prostatitis + lobectomy of liver(n=31).To compare the proliferation of glomerular mesangium and the deposition of IgA,IgG,IgM,C3 among three groups. To detect the urine protein, urine red blood cells count, serum creatinine,IgA in prostate homogenate , serum IL-6 and urine IL-6 .Results (1) The incidence of CP in IgAN patients was 44.7% and that in non-IgA mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis patients was 21.6%. There was significant difference in the incidence of chronic prostatitis between the two groups. (2)Clinical symptoms of CP in IgAN patients were mild, only 6 cases in 27 patients(22.2%)knew the CP history or appeared clinical symptoms such as unsmooth miction and perineal region pain.(3) The incidence of glomerulus sclerosis and the deposition...
