Purpose: To observe the therapeutic effect of infantile syndrome of Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infection (RRTI) of Deficiency of Both Lung and Spleen Qi treated by Tuina with ointment of Yupingfeng. Method: To choose baby patients 60 cases with RRTI of Deficiency of Both Lung and spleen Qi, which are divided into two groups of 30 cases randomly and respectively: the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group is treated by Tuina with the media—ointment of Yupingfeng, after applying the western medicine of antibiotic and antivirus during the acute respiratory tract infection; the control group is cured by administration of P-Transfer Factor Liquid for Oral Taking. Immunoglobulin,T lymphocyte sub-group are tested before treatment and after treatment for two groups. Result: The total effective rate is 96.7% in the treatment group, while 76.7% in the control group, and there is a significant difference between two groups. In the treatment group some clinic symptoms like times of suffering from the RRTI,fearing the cold and not tolerating the cool,sallowness of the skin or complexion,cough,are all obviously improved with the very significant difference (P<0.01) ; the symptom of anorexia is also improved with the significant difference(P<0.05); chemical test parameters like IgG,IgA,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ are rising and there is a significant difference (P<0.01) compared with the control group. Conclusion: Tuina with ointment of Yupingfeng has a better therapeutic effect on infantile patients with RRTI of deficiency of both lung and spleen qi, and has function of enhancing humoral immunity and cellular immunity. It is proved that Yupingfeng ointment has function of nourishing lung and reinforcing spleen, supplementing qi and nourishing blood.
