BackgroundAtherosclerosis (AS) is a generalized arterial disease affecting all the arteries in the whole body, resulting in structural and functional change in heart and brain, leading to severe complication as stroke and myocardial infarction. In our country, the morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases induced by AS is increasing, and has become the leading cause of disability and death. One important task nowadays in clinic is to find , prevent and control the generation and progress of AS early. ObjectiveIn our study , atherosclerotic indexes as Pressure-Strain Elastic Modulus (Eρ), Stiffness parameter(β), Arterial Compliance(AC) are obtained in healthy people, mild hypertensive patients and permenopausal women with lower estradiol2 (E2) by using Echo-tracking (E-tracking) , a new ultrasound based technique.
