Object: Investigate the variations on expressions of adhesion molecules CD54 on the surface of polymorphonuclear (PMN) and mononuclear leukocyte (MNL), C-reactive protein (CRP), soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin), soluble L-selectin (sL-selectin), CD62p and CD42b on the surface of platelets (PLT) in the peripheral blood in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and their significance, and further study the relations among the measures of inflammation and activated platelets in the peripheral blood in AIS patients and whether correlate with the volumes of cerebral infarction. Methods: Measure the expressions of adhesion molecules CD54 on the surface of PMN and MNL, CD62p and CD42b on the surface of PLT in the peripheral blood in 71 patients (AIS group) through labeling with monoclone antibody within 72 hours, 7 days and 14 days after the onset of disease by flow cytometer, and compare those with a control normal group including 30 healthy persons. Measure the serum CRP of all the 71 patients in AIS group within 72 hours and 7 days after the onset of AIS by nephelometry. Measure the expressions of sE-selectin and sL-selectin in the peripheral blood in 30 patients randomly selected in the AIS group within 72 hours and 7 days after the onset of AIS with ELISA, and compare those with 20 healthy...
