ObjectiveIn recent years the adults received orthodontic treatment have increased significantly with the raising demands for life and the improving condition of the society economy.The adults prefer to choose the ceramic brackets or plastic brackets whose colour are similar to the teeth for their aesthetic demands.Most of the plastic brackets are made of the poly-carboxylic acid and plastic powers which have a pleasant appearance,while they still present various problems: namely staining and hypso-fragility breakage and so on. For the cheap price and the aesthetic appearance the plastic brackets can satisfy the adults patient demands .But the splicing stability cant not reach the request for the orthodontic in clinic.This study is intending to improve the stability of the plastic brackets and to invest the reshaping of the PC that is material for the plastic brackets.Choose the inorganic slurry potassium titanate whisker,antioxidant agent,plasticizer,couplant to enhance the rigidity,tenacity and the antioxygen ability of the PC to solve the disadvanges of the plastic brackets and to meet the clinical demands for orthodontic brackets.Materials and methodsThe preparation of the potassium titanate whisker composite grain:misce bene the potassium titanate whisker PC various assistants which treated by the couplant in advance in the high speed mixer then add the mixed materials to the T5E-30 ambi-screws forcer liquate extrude after sticking cooling cutting,at last we can get the potassium titanate whisker grain.In the high speed mixer measure the influence about the treat methods of different agitating speed and time to the composite efficiency.In order to invest the influence that the whisker dosage to the composite efficiency we carried out the experiments 1 to 6. The PC padding with inorganic filling with KH-550(l%) as couplant and KT-17(5%) as plasticizer posses favourable effect as a reference to this study to choose the formulating of recipe of the whisker dosage.In order to choose proper couplant to treat the whisker surface elevate the splicing between the whisker and the PC obtaining ideal interface layer and studying the influence about the couplant dosage to the composite. We choose the couplant with a whisker dosage 20% and KT-17(5%) as a plasticizer.This article select three couplants KH-550,KH-560,NDZ201 to carry out experiments 7 to 22.We use two extrusion artwork in the whisker-enhanced PC materials preparation contrast the elongation efficiency of the composite in the two extrusion artwork.The preparation of the standard specimemuse the WG-100 type injecter and the reshaping materials to make the efficiency test standard specimen following the ISO standard then to undertake the melt flow velocity and the mechanics efficiency test.ResultsHigh speed agitation to the whisker is inadvisable as the surface treatment for it will injure the whisker seriously and the time of high speed admix is longer that the whisker's macro-diameter is smaller. The brachytely admix will hardly to injure the whisker in a spacious period and the composite has a excellent elongation efficiency. So the surface treatment to the whisker should properly increase and decrease the mix time following the practical dosage in order to obtain the optimal whisker surface treatment time.Compared with the titanate ester couplant that the potassium titanate whisker surface treatment with silacane couplant to the enhanced PC composite are better. The best silacane couplant is KH-550 alcoholize acidic water solution and the best dosage is 1%.As an enhanced material the potassium titanate whisker enhanced PC composite will reach the best mechanics efficiency when the addition is 40%.The composite that prepared by the artwork 2 have better tensile strength and bent modulus than the composite prepared by the artwork 1.ConclusionTreat the potassium titanate whisker with the silicane couplant KH-550 alcoholize acidic water solution(brachytely agitating in high speed beater) adopt grading adding artwork in the extruded corning. It means that we add the PC in the feed material piece and add the potassium titanate whisker in the catalysis piece with the addition is 40% that the prepared composite have better mechanics efficiency and physical efficiency than the pure PC materials.
