Objective To investigate the synergistic influenceof the recombinant human endostatin(Endostar) combined with gemci-tabine on the mouse model of human pancreatic cancer. Methods Usethe human pancreatic cancer cell line PANC-1 and the Balb/c mice toestablish the mouse model, devide them into three groups, and then treatthem with saline water, gemcitabin and gemcitabin combined withEndostar respectively. Observe the tumor volumn, use the ELISAmethods to detect the surum level of VEGF and the immuno-histochemistry methods to stain the microvessels. Results Endostarenhanced the antitumor effects of gemcitabine, reduced the serum VEGFlevel and the microvessel density on the mouse model of humanpancreatic cancer. Conclusion Endostar can enhance the anti-tumoreffects and one of the mechanisms could be reducing the VEGF level andinhibiting tumor neoangiogenesis.
