Inhibitory Effect Of Octreotide On Endometrial Carcinoma Cell Line And Its Expression Of VEGF

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of the somatostatin analogue octreotide on cell proliferation and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in human endometrial carcinoma cell line(HEC-1-B).Methods HEC-1-B cells weer cultered in different concentration of octreotide. The proliferative activity of the cells was evaluated by MTT assay. The expression of VEGF in the cells was determined by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELLISA).Results Cell proliferation was inhibited, the expressions of VEGF were reduced significantly in the cells treated with octreotide.Conclusion Octreotide can inhibit the proliferation of human endometrial carcinoma cell line, and also can exert an inhibitory effect on the expression of VEGF.
