The Clinical Analysis Of Vision ICL Implantations After Primary Open Angle Glaucoma Surgery

PURPOSEWe report a high myopia patient with primary open angle glaucoma, who got ICL implantations 5 years after the trabeculectomy, the clinical analysis of the 4 years follow upMETHODSCase report: A 18-year-old man came to our hospital for the vision decrease of both eyes for over ten years, and the diagnose was high myopia with primary open angle glaucoma, and he was accepted for the trabeculectomy with iridotomies, after the surgery the IOP(intraocular pressure)was normal and the visual field and the optical nerve were out of progressing loss. The patient got ICL implantations 5 years later for correcting high myopia ,the vision and the IOP were stable, and the anterior photogragh, UBM, corneal comfocal microscope , Orbscan II ,visual field and the fundus photograph were all examined ,the patient was without any serious complicationsRESULTSHigh myopia with primary open angle glaucoma after the trabeculectomy, the IOP was stable for 5 years ,and vision ICL implantation for correcting the high myopia, and the 4 years following up shows the IOP stable and the visual field and the optical nerve out of progressing loss, the filtering bleb influent for the aqueous humor, the cornea and the lens clearing ,the ICL right on the position, the uncorrected visual acuity without decrease, and the best corrected visual acuity got a line up to the preoperation, the optical examination shows no serious complication, the visual quality and the life quality were all get better for the patient.CONCLUSIONPrimary open angle glaucoma is not the absolute contraindication for the ICL implantation, the stable IOP after the glaucoma surgery, with enough evaluation of the patients eyes preoperation, the ICL implantation could be operated carefully for the correcting of the high myopia. But the risk is higher than normal eyes ,and the estimation is more important than normal eyes.
