Objective: To observe the effect of zhi mi tongâ…¢to constipation on patients (due to stagnated liver Qi).Methods: Methods of literature and clinical research were used. Literature research included summarizing the understanding of TCM about etiology, pathogenesis and treatment method of constipation due to stagnated liver Qi. This paper sums up the present research situation of modern medical science about the etiology and pathogenesis of FC, which is the foundation of clinical research of this project. A total of 60 outpatients were included in the study.30 of them received "zhi mi tongâ…¢orally at a dose of 9g qd for 4 weeks. These patients formed the study group while the remaining 30, the control of group received Ma Ren Pill orally at a dose of the same to the study group. All the cases were followed up for a period of 1 months.Results: The total effective rate of the study group reached 96.7%, which was significantly different from the control group(p<0.05). And there was significant difference in symptoms improvement(anxiety,abdominal ache,abdominal bloating and so on) between the study group and the control group.Conclusions: The prognosis of constipation on patients (due to stagnated liver Qi) treated by zhi mi tongâ…¢is satisfactory.
