Pulse taking is very important as one of the four diagnostic methods in TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine),which includes inspection,listening and smelling ,inquiry ,pulse-taking.Pulse-taking has shown syndrome differentiation in identifying diseases.There are many books about Pulse-taking and pulse mechanism ,while many are still been doubted today.The pulse-taking teaching develops very slowly,which mainly depends on teacher's oral speaking and clinic practice.The TCM students may encounter numerous obstacles in study ,because the limits of clinic practice status and the different symptom shown by the patient.So some students may be cofused about the sence and feeling about some pulse ,though they are familiar with the knowledge of pulse-taking.For the reasons above,it is emergent and necessary to visualizely simulate the human pulse using engineering methord.In this paper we introduce some engineering methords in TCM teaching,and we has detailly introduce one machine-the TCM Pulse-taking teaching and testing machine.The machine combines the TCM science, bionics, mechanical science, sensor technology and computer technology, and has successfully simulated the common 26 types of human pulse. The machine indicates the main character of pulse, and can be applied for class teaching, testing and science research. It has some original characters in mechanical design, wireless transmission and reception circuit, control circuit, sensor reactive circuit, LCD display, bionic artificial hand and outlook design. The machine has a wide using space and research space.The scientific researcher can use this model to to some deeply research in Hemorheology,Pusle taking,and standardlization of pulse etc.
