| Objective To study the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in lung carcinoma. Methods The expression of leptin and leptin receptor(OB-R)was detected in 60 cases of pulmonary malignant tumor tissues and 30 cases of pulmonary benign lesion tissues by immunohistochemistry. The different expression between pulmonary benign lesion and malignant tumors was compared. The correlation between their expression and clinical pathological parameters was also analyzed. Results In 30 pulmonary benign lesion tissues, the expression rate of leptin and OB-R was 33.3%(10/30)and 30.0%(9/30),respectively.And in 60 pulmonary carcinoma tissue, the expression rate of leptin and OB-R was 73.3%(44/60)and 71.7%(43/60),respectively.These differences between pulmonary benign lesion and pulmonary malignant tumors were considered to be statistically significant(P<0.05).But these differences had no statistical values among the patients' age and sex, gross tumor volume and histology typing(p>0.05).And the differences among lymph node metabasis and TMN staging were statistically significant(p<0.05).The cases without metastases had higher expression than those with tumor metastasis. And those with low-grade metastasis had higher expression than those with high-grade metastasis. The higher TMN staging getting, the lower the expression of leptin and leptin receptor was getting. Conclusion Leptin and leptin receptor were expressed highly in lung carcinoma. They may participate in the malignant transformation of lung. |
