Objective:Both incidence and attack rate of major depression is high.It has been classified as the second most important burden disease in China,which evoked close attention to Psychiatric scientis.For the past few years the great progress has occurred in study and research about depression.But the nosogeny of depression is not very clear.Along with the development of gene recombination techniquene,neuropeptide has been a new hot spot in onset and process of depression.CGRP is a new kind of neuropetide.It generally distribution in centra and peripheral nerve system.It be confirmed that CORP has close correlation with nosogenesis and develop of psychiatric and nerve system diseases. It be confirmed that CGRP plays a role in pathology process of depression in animal experiment.CGRP gene and levels in human CSF has been studied.Discovered that CGRP correlat ion with pathology of depression.The study of CGRP in human plasma has not been reported yet.The topic aimed at:1.determination CGRP levels in human blood plasma,comprehend it changes in depression 2.determination the levels of CORT and TSH in human serum,comprehend it changes in depression and the relation with depression;3.Analyses the relevance between CORP and HAMD. 4.Explore the possible roles of CGRP in depression mechanism. Methods:The case-control study design was used in this study.Samples are all in hospital at psychiatric department of Lanzhou university NO.2 hospital.37 depression patients and 30 normal people were bringed into study.RIA was used to test plasma CGRP and serum CORT,TSH levels in 37 patients with depressive disorder and 30 normal controls.State of illness was evaluated with HAMDResults:1.The plasma CGRP concentration was 57.70±7.73 pg/ml, significantly higher than that of normal controls(P<0.05), the serum CORT concentration was 21.90±5.40 ng/ml,higher than that of normal controls(P<0.05);the serum TSH concentration was 2.98±0.92 ng/ml,had no significant difference between the two groups(P=0.115).2.There was a positive correlation between CGRP and CORT in depression(r=0.357,P=0.030);there wasn't a positive correlation between CGRP and TSH in depression(P>0.05).3.The score of HAMD was 32.30±4.90.There was a positive correlation between HAMD and CGRP(r=0.376,P=0.022)or CORT level (r=0.425,P=0.009)4.There was a positive correlation between CGRP and somatic anxiety(r=0.39,p=0.032),and loss of weight(r=0.38,p =0.031)and retardation(r=0.42,p=0.018)there wasn't a positive correlation between CGRP and another factors in depression.There was a positive correlation between CORT and sleep disorders(r=0.39,p=0.029).there wasn't a positive correlation between CORT and another factors in depression,there wash't a correlation between TSH and any factors in depression.Conclusion:1.The plasma CGRP and serum CORT concentration increased in depression patients.2.There was a positive correlation between HAMD and CGRP.It hint that CGRP is a index which reflect severity degree of clinic sign of depression.3.There was a positive correlation between CGRP and somatic anxiety,loss of weight and retardation factor scores in HAMD-24.CGRP not only effect endocrine system,but also participate to stress reaction.It considered that CGRP is a symptom occurrence factor of depression.
