Objective To evaluate the role of enolase antigen in diagnosis of invasive candida albicans infection through measuring serum enolase. Methods Forty patients were adopted as experimental group according to Diagnostic Standard of and Treatment Principle of Invasive Fungal Infections in Patients of Hematopathy/Malignant Tumor(Draft),Diagnostic Standards for Hospital Infection Announced by the Department of Health in 2001,including 18 patients were comfirmed as invasive candida albicans infection,12 patients were clinical diagnosed as invasive candida albicans infection and 10 patients were candida albicans superficial colonization.Ten health physical examination personnel were chosen as negative control group.Detect absorbance value(OD value)of enolase standard antigen and standard antibody at different gradients with enzyme-linked immune assay(ELISA)to determine the most suitable antibody concentration, then establish standard curve of antibody.OD values of enolase of sample serum, which were determined under same conditions, could reflect antigen level in the serum samples when compared with standard curve.By studying the correlation of serum enolase and infection rate,to evaluate the role of test of enolase antigen in diagnosis of invasive candida albicans infection and to provide help for early and quick diagnosis the infection.Result 1.Mean concentration of serum enolase in confirmed invasive candida albicans infection group was 0.630±0.02405μg/ml,in clinical diagnosis group was 0.5233±0.1832μg/ml,in superficial colonization was 0.1050±0.0299μg/ml while healthy group was 0.0690±0.0393μg/ml.By multiple comparison, confirmed diagnosis group and clinical diagnosis group had significant difference compared with the other groups. But no significant different were observed between former two groups or between the other two groups.2.To use ELISA to estimate the consistency of enolase in spute and taking 0.35μg/ml as cut off point, the diagnositic sensiticity and specificity are 77%,100%.Conclusion 1.Serum enolase from invasive candida albicans infection groups were significantly higher than that from colonization and healthy groups, which suggested serum enolase antigen could be an ideal index.2.For diagnosis sensitivity and specificity for invasive candida albicans infection,it's ideal to take 0.35μg/ml as threshold of diagnosis...
