Objective : To evaluate the role of SAP2 in diagnosis of invasive Candida albicans infection through measuring serum SAP2.Methods Forty patients were adopted as experimental group according to Diagnostic Standard and Treatment Principle of Invasive Fungal Infections in Patients of Hematopathy/Malignant Tumor (Draft), Diagnostic Standards for Hospital Infection Announced by the Department of Health in 2001, including 18 patients were comfirmed as invasive Candida albicans infection, 12 patients were clinical diagnosed as invasive Candida albicans infection and 10 patients were Candida albicans superficial colonization. 10 health physical examination personnel were chosen as negative control group. Detect the absorbance value (OD value )of SAP2 by standard antigen and antibody at different gradients with enzyme-linked immune assay (ELISA) to determine the most suitable antibody concentration, then establish standard curve of antibody. OD values of SAP2 in sample serum, which were determined under same conditions, could reflect antigen level in the serum samples when compared with standard curve. Then study the relationship of serum SAP2 level and infection rate in order to evaluate the role of test of SAP2 antigen in diagnosis of invasive Candida albicans infection and to provide help for early and quick diagnosis the infection.Result 1. Mean concentration of serum SAP2 in confirmed invasive Candida albicans infection group was62.63±10. 28ng/mL, in clinical diagnosis group was 50.67±16. 40ng/mL , in superficial colonization was 5.98±1.41 ng/mL while healthy group was 4.74±1. 15ng/mL. By multiple comparison, confirmed diagnosis group and clinical diagnosis group had significant difference compared with the superficial colonization groups and the negative control group(P=0.000). But no significant different were observed between confirmed diagnosis group and clinical diagnosis group(P=0.194) or between the superficial colonization groups and the negative control group(P=0.228).2. Using ELISA to estimate the concentration of SAP2 in serum and taking 53.95ng/mL as cut off point, the diagnositic sensiticity and specificity are 83.3%,91.1%.Conclusion 1. Serum SAP2 from invasive Candida albicans infection groups confirmed and clinical diagnosis were significantly higher than that from colonization and healthy groups, which suggested serum SAP2 could be an ideal index.2. The satisfied diagnosis sensitivity and specificity for invasive Candida albicans infection is 53.95ng/mL.
