Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of Survivin and VEGF to identify their association with clinical and pathologic factors of the patients with larynx squamous cell carcinoma.Method:The expression levels of Survivin and VEGF were evaluated by immunohistochemical method in formalin fixed paraffin embedded specimens from 60 patients with larynx squmaous cell carcinoma.Every section was scored according to the fraction of stained tumor cells and the staining intensity. The square test were performed to identify the relationship between these proteins and pathologic classification, node metastasis and TNM state of the patients by means of SAS 9.0 software.P value<0.05 were considered as statistically significantly.Result:Survivin and VEGF were both stained in cell plasma. The positive rate of node-metastasis group was statistically higher than node-negative group.Survivin and VEGF were postive correlated with pathologic classification.Positive rate ofⅢ-Ⅳgroup patients was statistically higher thanⅠ-Ⅱgroup.Survivin correlated closely with VEGF,and both positive patients had more possibility on node metastasis and had advanced clinical state. Conclusion:Survivin and VEGF were closely correlated with node metastasis and pathologic classification;patients whose Survivin and VEGF were both positive had more possibility on node metastasis and had advanced clinical state, thus those patients had poorer prognosis.
