Jindenglong, named also Hongguniang or Guajindeng in Chinese, is a kind of plant of Physalis alkekengi L. var. franchetii (Mast.) Makino. Its calyx are a common Chinese traditional medicine, used for detumescence, relieving a cough, dissipating phlegm, diuresising, strengthening heart, expelling toxin, clearing heat and removing clampness. It is stated in proved recipe that the calyx of Physalis alkekengi L. var.franchetii (Mast.)Makino can be used to treat pharyngitis, which is also proved by pharmacology.In this thesis, eight compounds are isolated from the calyx of Physalis alkekengi L. var.franchetii (Mast.)Makino by solvent extraction, silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and recrystalizition. According to the physical and chemical characteristics and spectral method, their structures are identified as (1)α-D- glucose; (2)β-sitosterol; (3) 4,7-didehydro-neophysalin B; (4) physalin P; (5) luteolin; (6) luteolin- 7-O-β-D glucoside; (7) quercetin; (8) daucosterol.The calyx of Physalis alkekengi L. var. franchetii (Mast.)Makino are enriched according todifferent polarity by macroporous adsorption resin. In addition, different parts of polarity were tested on the activity of antibiosis,the result show that 50% and 70% EtOH parts are the main effective parts,For the first time, the contents of 4,7-didehydro-neophysalin B in different parts(calyx extracts are adsorped by macroporous resin and eluted by EtOH with different concentration) are determined by HPLC. There is trace content of 4,7-didehydro-neophysalin B in 30% and 90% EtOH parts, while its content in 50% and 70% EtOH parts are 2.18% and 0.418% respectively.For the first time, the content of luteolin and quercetin in different parts are determined by HPLC. There is trace content in 30% and 90% EtOH parts, while its contents in 50% and 70% EtOH parts are 0.56%,0.12%and 0.086%,0.013% respectively.
